As most bass players out there know, the Swedish bass gear producer EBS also offer a line of lightweight bass heads called Reidmar. During this year’s NAMM Show, the company are premiering a new member of that amp family – the Reidmar 502.
The EBS Reidmar 502 handles a 2-ohm load, which means it can drive two 4-ohm cabinets simultaneously. It is one of the few lightweight amps in the 500W-range that does that.
According to the producer, this gives more punch and a lot less compressed sound than with lightweight amplifiers using automatic limiters to prevent clipping. It keeps the bass tone from sounding muddy and preserve the lows solid on higher volumes.
EBS also boast the preamp which the new bass head is equipped with as giving you “full control and can bring out anything from a warm nice low end, brilliant highs and mids that cut through the mix when you need it.”
Additionally, the EBS Reidmar 502 also features an EBS onboard compressor, a balanced XLR recording output, an effects loop, and a headphones output for late night practice sessions without waking up your neighbors.
Suggested retail price: USD 549.99.
